About Our Research
We have developed devices and contrast mechanisms that enable rapid, large-area 2D and 3D pseudo-histology in fresh biopsies and surgical resections using structured illumination microscopy (SIM) and selective-plane illumination microscopy (SPIM). In addition, with our collaborators we are developing novel computational strategies for automated cancer detection and analysis for grading and prognosis. We are committed to sustained efforts to clinically validate these technologies in realistic clinical scenarios towards clinical translation, and to accomplish this we employ a highly-collaborative team-based approach at the interface between engineering and medicine, working with engineers, clinicians, and scientists to develop and validate new technologies.
