My name is Huy Pham, and I’m originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am currently a graduate student in the Biomedical Acoustics Laboratory at Tulane University. My research focuses on evaluating the clinical applicability of a novel blood coagulation analysis technique called integrated quasi-static acoustic tweezing thromboelastometry (i-QATT). Specifically, my work involves: (1) validating i-QATT by comparing its results with gold-standard methods (INR, aPTT, and Thromboelastography – TEG), establishing reference ranges for its coagulation parameters, and evaluating the diagnostic performance of these parameters, (2) investigating the feasibility of using capillary blood samples for coagulation analysis with i-QATT, and (3) studying i-QATT’s potential for monitoring direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) and their reversal.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading, playing guitar or video games, and spending time with my child — especially taking him to the park.
