Bek Markel

Bek Markel (they/them) completed a MS degree on baldcypress endophytes and is currently a research technician working on coastal restoration projects. They also help maintain plants in Tulane's greenhouse facility and work as an independent contractor on tree-planting initiatives throughout SE Louisiana. They are working toward becoming a Louisiana Master Naturalist and a licensed arborist. They currently serve as a board member for Common Ground Relief.
