Promoting Ethnic Racial Socialization & Identity

The Promoting Ethnic Racial Socialization & Identity (PERSI) Lab aims to improve mental health and achievement outcomes in Latinx and other minoritized children by identifying and mitigating factors associated with ethnic-racial disparities. Our work centers community voices and cultural strengths, namely ethnic-racial socialization and identity; applies a lifespan lens, with a particular focus on early childhood; and spans applied developmental and intervention research to translate findings into meaningful prevention efforts.
